Young rally star signs with Kick Energy

Global Brands has marked a major new sponsorship deal with Kick Energy and 2009 Young Rally Driver of the Year, Craig Breen by attending an official Mayoral Reception to honour the ambitious sportsman.

The sponsorship is a perfect fit for Kick, which has revitalizing properties and a formula designed to give people a boost when they need it most.

The Mayoral Reception was held on January 29 at the Town Hall in Carrick on Suir, Co. Tipperary, where Craig announced the 2010 deals with major sponsors, including Kick Energy and treated guests to a viewing of his new Kick-branded Ford Fiesta S2000.

The Fiesta S2000, M-Sport's and Ford's first global rally car will be eligible to compete in national rally championships around the world. Craig and the Breen Rallying Team will campaign the new Fiesta S2000 in the 2010 Irish Tarmac Championship and the 2010 British Rally Championship.

Craig Breen commented:

"If it wasn’t for my sponsors and Kick Energy in particular, I wouldn't be here today. The partnership with Kick Energy has opened new doors for us and will help us to do things more professionally.

"I've never really been a fan of energy drinks until I tried Kick Energy at the launch. It doesn't feel as heavy as some of the other energy drinks on the market. I came back from testing on Saturday and was gasping for a drink so grabbed a can...and I liked it that much I went back for a second!"

Global Brands can expect major exposure for the brand considering the success Craig has enjoyed in 2009, including a hat trick of Fiesta Sport Trophy Titles (Irish, UK and International), his victory in the National Junior Rally Championship and the announcement from Motorsport Ireland that Craig has been crowned the Young Rally Driver of the year and in doing so was awarded the 2009 Billy Coleman Trophy. Craig also capped an unprecedented season by winning the Fiesta Sport Trophy International Shootout.

Global Brands are investing heavily into the Kick Energy brand throughout 2010 and Marketing Manager, Kate Hodson said:

"Kick Energy provides an energy boost when a sportsman needs it most – making it a perfect fit for up and coming star, Craig Breen. Rallying is a high energy, fast-paced sport which requires a huge amount of skill, dedication and passion. Sponsoring Craig at what looks set to be one of the most exciting points of his career is a huge honour and we wish him great success for 2010."
