Chairman – Steve Perez
Steven J Garcia Perez's first entrepreneurial venture came with the launch of the Global Beer Company, a business that proved profitable until cross-border shopping laws changed in 1993. Steve was unable to compete with much larger breweries and the company folded, leaving him to reinvent his business.
Steve formed GBL International in 1997 with a focus on owning his own brands. After noticing the popularity of RTD's, Steve spotted a gap in the market for a more affordable, vodka-based alternative. VK was born. Renamed Global Brands Ltd in 2004, the company has continued to go from strength to strength, growing its brand portfolio and expanding into new markets.
Steve was awarded the Derbyshire Times 'Entrepreneur of the Year' in 2010, and as well as being respected in business, Steve Perez is a well-known rally driver and competes all over the world with the Kick Energy rally team. For more information about Steve, visit: www.steveperez.co.uk
Group Managing Director – Mark James
Mark James's role within Global Brands has evolved from Sales Director, where he managed sales activity and led a rapidly growing sales team, to Managing Director, which involved developing long term strategies to grow the brand portfolio alongside company Chairman, Steve Perez.
In 2009, Mark was appointed Group Managing Director, focussing on the commercial side of the Global Brands Group of Companies, in particular procurement, distribution and manufacturing. Mark oversees Steve Perez's property divisions, including the Casa Hotel and Bradbury Hall Developments.
Financial Director – Shaun Bacon
Shaun joined Global Brands in 2009 as Financial Director, bringing with him extensive experience following high profile positions at Wavin, Pork Farms and NFT Distribution.
Marketing & Export Director – Simon Green
Simon was appointed in 2010 to set the marketing direction for the company, develop brand plans across the entire portfolio and lead the Marketing, PR and creative departments to ensure business goals are met through marketing programmes.
Simon brings with him a wealth of marketing experience within the drinks industry, and his past appointments include senior marketing positions at Scottish and Newcastle, GlaxoSmithKline, Heineken UK and Carlsberg UK.
Sales Director - Julian Atkins
Julian joined Global Brands in 2009 after previously working in the National On Trade arena at Heineken UK, and before that for Nestlé across various sectors in differing sales positions.
Julian heads up the on-trade Sales team, developing strong sales strategies and providing clear vision to secure future growth in the UK's pubs, clubs, bars and restaurants.
As well as identifying and reporting on new business opportunities in target markets, Julian ensures consistent support for customers and partners.
National Account Director - Santi Perez
Santiago Perez has been with Global Brands since day one, when the company was founded. With his career in the company beginning in a number of roles ranging from deliveries to sales, Santi has evolved with the business to become the company’s National Account Director.
Focused on maintaining and developing relationships with late night, high street venues, Santi's role involves liaising with customers to create lasting partnerships with Global Brands, raising the profile of the company’s drinks portfolio. Santi is always on the lookout for new business opportunities.
In his spare time, Santi likes to travel around the world. He’s recently taken up golf and is an avid football fan.
